Detailed description

Custom Multi-Layer Wave Springs

This page presents custom wave-spring examples for drawing-based projects. The drawing should identify whether the design uses a continuous multi-turn spring or an assembly of separate wave washers, together with its required load and working height. LAMBOOR evaluates custom metal components using customer 2D drawings, 3D drawings or physical samples. For a proposed preload, clearance-compensation or vibration-control application, define the installed space, required load at working heights and relevant validation conditions. We provide full OEM & ODM customization services to satisfy different space constraints and load requirements of worldwide industrial purchasers.

Manufacturing Review for the Specified Wave-Spring Design

The manufacturing route is selected for the construction defined in the approved spring drawing. For a design that uses separate wave washers, define the washer geometry and stacking arrangement. Any heat treatment follows the selected material and approved process requirements. Specify edge condition, contact-surface requirements and any deburring or flatness checks required by the drawing.
Our production line can manufacture wave springs, single-turn wave springs, flat wire torsion springs, compression springs and various special-shaped elastic components, supporting one-stop procurement of metal springs and stamping hardware.

Design Requirements for Custom Wave Springs

Define the construction, working height and required load before comparing wave-spring designs. The following requirements help establish the design and acceptance basis:
Compare the required working height and load at that height with the proposed spring and any coil-spring alternative.
Define the required force–deflection relationship and the acceptable load variation at the working heights.
Heat-treatment requirements depend on the material grade and condition. Verify any required load retention or fatigue life under the specified working conditions.
Define any layer arrangement, section thickness, wave geometry and inner/outer diameters against the available assembly space and working-height requirements.
Multiple material and surface treatment options: Carbon spring steel for general working conditions and stainless steel or high-temperature alloy for corrosion-resistant and high-temperature environments.
Evaluate the spring load, waveform and installed height against the mating assembly and its acceptance criteria. The completed assembly must be evaluated against its defined operating and acceptance requirements.

Our One-Stop Custom Manufacturing Solutions

The reviewed drawing defines the spring geometry, load requirements and assembly conditions for the project.
Identify the required wave-spring construction, working envelope and load range in the project specification.
Forming, heat treatment, finishing and any assembly operations are selected for the construction and material defined by the approved design. Critical dimensions, load points and acceptance criteria are agreed for the design. Besides wave springs, we can provide matching torsion springs, disc springs, wire forming parts and precision stamping components to simplify your procurement and assembly workflow.

Drawing-Controlled Features and Order Requirements

Dimensional and Load Requirements

The selected construction determines the forming route and inspection requirements. Define thickness, inner and outer diameter, free-height and wave-geometry tolerances separately on the drawing. Any required load repeatability or retention must be evaluated at the specified working heights and cycle conditions.

Highly Flexible Parameter Customization

The drawing defines inner and outer diameters, section size, free height, wave geometry, any layer arrangement and required load points. Define the delivered condition and any remaining assembly or finishing operations in the approved specification.

Multiple Material & Surface Treatment Options

Available materials: 65Mn spring steel, 50CrVA, SUS301, SUS304, Inconel alloy. Optional surface treatment: natural finish, passivation, zinc plating, nickel plating, shot blasting, black oxide. Define any RoHS requirement for the selected material and coating, including the applicable declaration or test evidence for the supplied part.

Order Quantity and Delivery Planning

We accept small-batch prototype orders and mass bulk orders. The drawing revision, critical checks and acceptance criteria are defined for each order. Repeat orders should identify the applicable drawing revision and any agreed changes to material, finish or inspection requirements.

OEM Custom Service Scope

We provide integrated customized solutions for all types of industrial springs and metal hardware.
Material selection: 65Mn spring steel, alloy spring steel, SUS301/SUS304 stainless steel, high-temperature alloy. Our engineers recommend suitable raw materials based on load demand, operating temperature, anti-corrosion requirements and budget.

Surface treatment: Natural finish, passivation, zinc plating, nickel plating, shot blasting, black oxide. Any required RoHS documentation must identify the selected material, finish and supplied-part scope.
Service mode: Develop processing solutions based on drawings or physical samples. Sample confirmation before mass production to verify dimensions, load performance and assembly effect.

Typical Application Scenarios

For a proposed bearing-preload, valve, sealing or other compact-assembly application, provide the mating arrangement, working heights, load requirements and validation criteria.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you produce custom springs and wire forming parts according to my drawings or samples?

A: Yes, we mainly focus on OEM & ODM customized spring manufacturing services. We accept 2D files like PDF/DWG and 3D files such as STEP, IGES. You can also send physical samples for us to reverse-engineer and optimize the structure. Our engineering team will review your design and offer professional suggestions on cost saving and manufacturability (DFM) for free.

What kinds of metal materials can you use for spring manufacturing?

A: We support a full range of common elastic metal materials, including 304/316 stainless steel, high carbon steel, music wire, alloy steel, phosphor bronze, beryllium copper and brass. We can select suitable raw materials based on your product usage, working environment, elasticity requirements and budget.

Can I get trial samples before mass production? How long is the sample lead time?

The sample scope is agreed for the reviewed spring design. Sample timing is confirmed after reviewing the spring drawing, material, tooling and inspection scope. After you test and confirm the sample dimension, force value and performance, we will arrange mass production. Small batch trial orders are also acceptable if you do not need large volume at first.

What surface finishing options do you provide for custom springs and elastic parts?

A: We offer multiple surface treatments to meet anti-rust, anti-corrosion, wear resistance and appearance demands: zinc plating, nickel plating, black oxide, passivation, powder coating, electrophoresis, sandblasting and polishing. For a spring order with RoHS or REACH requirements, identify the applicable material and finish, and agree the required declaration or test evidence for the supplied parts.

How do you control the tolerance and quality of custom industrial springs?

For the selected wave-spring construction, define the wire or strip section, finished dimensions and permitted load variation at specified working heights. Agree incoming-material checks, in-process measurements and final inspection for the specified drawing revision, including sampling or any required full checks. Specify the inspection records and any third-party inspection arrangements with the order.

What types of springs and elastic components do you support customization for?

A: We cover full-category custom elastic hardware, including compression springs, torsion springs, extension springs, wave springs, flat springs, spring clips, shrapnel, custom wire forming parts and various non-standard elastic stampings. No matter conventional standard springs or special-shaped custom elastic parts, we can provide targeted manufacturing solutions.
